"One of the UK's hottest singers." Time Out; "A
truly real, beautiful star, worthy of everyone's attention."
Award winning jazz & soul singer-songwriter, Natalie Williams launched the new LATE NIGHT JAZZ Series at The Crazy Coqs in February. Hot off the back of her sold out show with Ian Shaw, Natalie returns with two very special duo shows on Friday 30th and Saturday 31st May.
On FRIDAY NIGHT, Natalie performs with Ronnie Scott's infamous Artistic Director, the pianist, composer and raconteur, James Pearson. The list of musicians Pearson has collaborated with over his illustrious career includes legends such as Sir Paul McCartney and Wynton Marsalis, plus everyone from Dame Cleo Laine to Joss Stone and Richard Rodney Bennett to Jeff Beck. He is also at home as a concert pianist, performing concertos with the Philharmonia and BBC Concert Orchestra, with broadcasts on Classic FM and BBC Radio 2. As a jazz musician, his trio have been the house band at Ronnie Scott's for several years and have sold out a four night residency at Birdland in New York.
Natalie and James' on stage chemistry is electric. Expect a night mixing some of Natalie's hugely popular originals with classics and favourites from the jazz repertoire, delivered with wit and charisma.
On SATURDAY NIGHT, Natalie is proud to host her first ever duo performance with her very favourite singer and longtime friend, the inimitable Liane Carroll. A living legend on the British Jazz scene and internationally, Liane Carroll's powerful, addictive voice has moved audiences from Hastings to Hawaii. Her stunning recording output has seen her receive nominations and awards for Best Jazz Vocalist and Best Album from the BBC Jazz Awards, the Parliamentary Jazz Awards and most recently the Jazz FM Awards. Carroll has performed sell out shows and residencies at all the major UK jazz venues and festivals, solo, trio, with quartet and with orchestra. She is a phenomenal talent on the piano and her shows are renowned for their variety of raucous wit and deeply poignant interpretations of iconic and original ballads.
