In the heart of Soho, yet hidden from view under the hustle and bustle of Piccadilly, Bar Américain is a truly authentic American Bar.
Classic and house cocktails are served nightly alongside a selection of wines, champagnes, beers and non-alcoholic options.
We will reopen Bar Américain on Saturday 4th July at 5.00pm. After that, we will be open every evening, though our hours may differ slightly, please click here to view. To view our full Covid statement, please click here. We kindly ask that each person in your party accesses our wifi on a mobile phone when arriving at the restaurant, where you can fill out your details to assist with track and trace. If you would prefer a contactless menu on your visit, please view on our website. We look forward to welcoming you.
“The artwork that adorns our bar is the full collection of Paul Colin’s portfolio of lithographs, entitled ‘Le Tumulte Noir’. The collection is an homage to Josephine Baker, the dancer, singer, civil rights activist and serial adopter of children! Paul Colin helped to launch Baker’s career and she subsequently became his muse and lover. The works, published in 1927, beautifully evoke this exuberant era in Paris.”
