Multi-award winning singer, Ian Shaw, fuses the words and music of two of popular music's genius giants, Joni Mitchell and the much missed David Bowie to weave an intricate and two-sided look at Valentine's Day. In sweet combination with the standards and love songs of almost a hundred years (Bowie and Joni adored the classics - Bowie recorded Wild Is The Wind, Joni an entire album of jazz standards) Shaw traverses the back catalogues of these two music icons. This is an unmissable and highly personal journey through their songs to "our own ideals" of love, hope and the presence of the darker truths of recent times. These highly charged shows promise tears, laughter...and simply great songwriting.

With 15 studio albums to his own name in a career spanning three decades, Ian Shaw is widely regarded as the best jazz vocalist the UK has produced. He is also a talented pianist, song writer, presenter, record producer and actor. Ian tours constantly, from UK theatres and festivals to concerts in the US, such as New York's Lincoln Center, and Japan. He performs regularly in Canada and has toured Australia, China and Hong Kong. He has collaborated with countless artists from Quincy Jones and Charlotte Church to the legendary Cedar Walton and Kurt Elling. Shaw's recordings and live performances as a jazz singer have been recognised by two BBC jazz awards (2004 and 2007), a Parliamentary award (2018) and numerous award nominations including Downbeat Magazine (2017) and Jazz FM (2013 and 2019).

"Jazz singer Ian Shaw is almost too talented for his own good...a brilliant vocal chameleon" - The Telegraph

"Great jazz singers, like great comedians, are masters of timing. That Ian Shaw is a virtuoso of both disciplines, balancing standup and concert gigs, speaks to the breadth of his genius and to the singularity of his style as a singer" - Jazz Times (USA)
