  • Chris Hamilton & Shimi Goodman met at Guildford School of Acting twenty six years ago and have been making music together ever since. Together, they form the exciting musical Tenor & Piano duo – Tiano. They are delighted to return to Crazy Coqs with their first UK show of the year. These two world-class performers truly put the class into classical as they take the audience on a journey of musical styles from classical to popular. The genre “classical crossover” perfectly describes their style since everything they present is informed by highly developed musicianship that never fails to entertain.

Their eclectic programme sweeps the audience along with their energy, enthusiasm for music, and amusing banter. Tiano is becoming well known for their mash-ups of familiar songs performed in perfect harmony and cleverly arranged by Chris on piano. The audience loves it when Tiano presents a specially prepared ten minute medley at each Crazy Coqs show which is devoted to a decade (for example the 80’s), an artist (for instance Whitney Houston), or perhaps a movie musical (maybe Dirty Dancing which incidentally Shimi performed in in the West End). As Tiano mentioned in an interview with 2shadesmagazine.com they spend all that time preparing each ten minute set piece and only perform it once at Crazy Coqs so it really is special to witness this moment!

Chris is a multi-award-winning composer and lyricist. He also writes songs with Shimi, two of which were featured on TV in 2020.

In 2025 Tiano made their US debut as part of the summer season at Barrington Stage, Massachusetts. Later in the year they performed at The Composers Room, Las Vegas and at The Starlight Room at Arts Express Theatre, Tucson, Arizona. They also performed at the Wales Millennium Centre and Downstairs at the Grand in Birmingham.

Tiano’s performances are so sophisticated and entertaining that when you watch them for the first time, you’ll kick yourself for not discovering them sooner! Their London shows invariably sell out weeks if not months in advance, so be sure to book so as not to miss out on this one!
