The life and music of Billie Holliday with Hope Augustus

Sung and narrated by Hope Augustus, this show tells of the life in the music of the legendary jazz singer Billie Holiday. With a delicate balance of humour and pathos, it tells of her personal and professional struggles, triumphs, and ultimate tragedy.

Featuring George Webster (piano) and Clare Hirst (Sax/Clarinet).

Hope Augustus is a singer and theatre actress who has played in several productions celebrating the Jazz age, including; Blues in the night, Ain’t Misbehaving, Ma Raines’s Black Bottom, Rag Time and When Ella Met Marylin.

Hope was a resident singer at the OXO Tower for five years and has been a guest singer at Pizza on the Park with notable British jazz pianist Jonathan Gee.
