Brazilian composer, arranger and 7-string guitarist, Luiz Morais brings his second album ‘In the Weave’ to Crazy Coqs.

At the cutting edge of Brazilian Jazz, this work draws from the Brazilian tradition forged by the likes of Tom Jobim, Baden Powell and Moacir Santos whilst weaving new threads and connections to contemporary Jazz.

Morais here presents the album with a 5-piece band comprising the crème de la crème of UK Jazz instrumentalists.

Expect intricate, thrilling arrangements built around the rhythmical force of the Brazilian guitar tradition that push the players to their edge.

Brazilian composer, arranger and 7-string guitarist, Luiz Morais is a unique voice in contemporary Brazilian Jazz and a virtuoso performer. Based in London since 2010, he leads the Luiz Morais Group, forging ahead in creating an innovative and experimental rebirth of the Brazilian musical tradition in a wider landscape of jazz and world music.
