  • Up-and-coming vocalist Freddie Benedict has performed with the National Youth Orchestra for the last 10 years and recently appeared at the Henry Mancini BBC Proms. Tonight he will be presenting his original material alongside — and celebrating the release of his debut single ‘Colours’, accompanied by an official music video.

    FREDDIE BENEDICT – vocals, trumpet
    JESS BULLEN – saxes
    KIERAN GUNTER – guitar
    CHRIS BLAND – piano, keys
LUKE FOWLER – upright bass, electric bass
    FLOYER SYDENHAM – drums

Hailing from a theatrical family, Freddie’s speaking voice has brought him many opportunities in animation and as an impressionist, but singing remains the cornerstone of his world. He regularly sells out The Spice of Life, The Savoy, The Ritz, as well as the very own Crazy Coqs, Toulouse Lautrec and PizzaExpress in Soho, and most recently performed at the BBC Proms, performing the music of Henry Mancini at the Royal Albert Hall.

Alongside his jazz endeavours, he studied classical singing and trumpet at the Katarina Gurska Conservatoire in Madrid, helping him cultivate the warm, soaring baritone sound you hear today. He was awarded a first-class honours degree for his Master’s in Jazz Singing at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. In addition, he has added his vocal and beatboxing talents to the a cappella group All the King’s Men, who were nominated for four CARAs. In 2017, he joined NoVI, whose success as European ICCA champions took them to Carnegie Hall that same year.

Freddie draws on all these experiences to place his own unique stamp on well-known standards, as well as to inspire these very own compositions — including his debut single ‘Colours’ — all of which you will hear live at Crazy Coqs.
