  • Before the West End, before the tours, before the curtain calls, there was Ella.

For Emily Olive Boyd, the music of Ella Fitzgerald was the beginning of everything. Growing up with Ella’s records playing at home, Emily learned phrasing, storytelling and the pure joy of singing from the First Lady of Song herself.

Now, after years performing in productions including Wicked, Les Misérables, and We Will Rock You, Emily returns to the earliest musical inspiration in her debut London solo concert.

Blending beloved Ella Fitzgerald classics with personal stories from a life on stage, this intimate evening celebrates the singer who started it all—and the enduring power of a truly great song.

    line

“It’s a musical of big, belting performances, especially from baddie Killer Queen, played on Monday by understudy Emily Olive Boyd, who seemed to thoroughly enjoy every huge note and wicked laugh.”
    Leeds Live

“I was fortunate enough to see Emily perform one of her Ella Fitzgerald sets in Bert’s Jazz Bar and it was like taking a step back in time to the era of truly great jazz. Her flawless vocals and beautiful performance style make her a most captivating performer who would easily hold her own on any stage, anywhere in the world. A truly exciting talent with an undoubtedly dazzling future.”
    Jordan, Q Radio

“Emily Olive Boyd is a fabulous Killer Queen – equal parts venomous relish and explosive vocal force. Adam Strong’s vocal strengths could stop an eighteen wheeler and when Boyd joins for a Killer Queen – Khashoggi duet, it’s a wonder the bulbs don’t blow.”
