New artists, emerging talent, diverse voices and brilliant musicians: Début is our monthly evening devoted to spotlighting some of the best original music across a host of genres encompassing jazz, funk, soul, folk and pop (as well as everything in between). Our art deco basement, known for its brilliant acoustics and intimate atmosphere, is proud to showcase fine talents at affordable ticket prices – perfect for a great night out in the West End.

May Kolta is set to perform with her full band (vocals, piano, guitar, bass, drums and cello) in an intimate 60-minute set blending mellow pop, jazz, and folk influences. The performance showcases her upcoming sophomore EP in full ahead of its release, alongside selected songs from her debut EP.
The new EP is a concept project that uses food as a metaphor to explore the emotional journey from abusive relationships to rediscovering connection, trust, and healthy love. The set highlights vivid lyrical imagery with music that ranges from minimal, stripped-back to fuller, groove-led band arrangements.
