  • After two years of honing his signature act at Pangea, New York City’s downtown bohemian hotspot, award-winning stand-up/cabaret firebrand brings his latest show RIOT ACT! to the Big Smoke!

Stand-up veteran, David Mills is a bold showbiz iconoclast who combines sharply satirical comedy with a singular take on classic nightclub cabaret to push both genres into innovative, uncharted territory. Joined by the dashing Mr. Bobby Goulder on the piano, Mills takes us on a scathing romp through the boneyard of contemporary culture, eviscerating everything from celebrity to casual sex, gay pride to social media, drugs to politics, and much more.

A US expat who lived in London for 23 years and now based in NYC, Mills brings a jaundiced eye to his observational stand-up, developed in clubs across the UK, Europe and notably, multiple stints at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He’s opened for comedy legend Margaret Cho, performed alongside Trevor Noah and acted in films opposite Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant, and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Inspired by the sardonic wit of Paul Lynde, the musical audacity of Sandra Bernhard, and the casual elegance of Irish comedian Dave Allen, Mills turns his acidic humor on today’s harrowing headlines while skewering the unrelenting horrors of contemporary life. Mills mixes biting wit with surprising reinterpretations of forgotten 50s classics, undiscovered 70s soul bangers, 90s indie standards, and current pop hits. Numbers include underappreciated gems by songwriters Tom Waits, Oscar Brown, Billy Barnes, Billy Paul, Charlie Smalls, Odessey and Sports Team.

“Acerbic wit, a biting sting, disregard for propriety, and a twisted bent. Hilarious and cynical in a doleful, angrily-neurotic, clever, kind of way” – TheFrontRowCenter.com

“blisteringly smart, achingly funny, uncompromisingly bold, staunchly unapologetic, blissfully original and completely, totally, absolutely enjoyable”- BroadwayWorld.com
