HORMONAL is a one-woman musical comedy about the messy business of being alive in a female body. Performed through original songs and piano-side oversharing, it follows Anna Byrne’s life in hormones – from puberty to perimenopause – taking in periods, PMDD, sex, heartbreak, fertility panic, pregnancy, motherhood and the impossibility of staying sane while your hormones repeatedly change the terms and conditions.

Part cabaret, part confessional, part public health announcement, the show blends sharp comedy with moments of genuine vulnerability. In the tradition of Victoria Wood and Catherine Cohen, HORMONAL is warm, theatrical, witty and occasionally unhinged – a celebration of bodies, biology and all the things women are expected to privately endure.

Not a biology lesson. More a nervous breakdown with jokes.
