Robin Phillips: Return From The Source

Singer, pianist & songwriter Robin Phillips shares music from his album: Return From The Source. Mixing the music of the south, with beautiful songwriting and arrangements, this originals album was inspired by a motorbike trip from Chicago to New Orleans, to better understand the physical places behind jazz and blues in the USA. To bring the songs to life in this project Robin added electric guitar and cello to his existing trio.

The songs on the album are a mix of styles, with each song following its own musical journey to tell its story. Some are bluesy and funky, others more jazz, with some in the acoustic, songwriter, or even pop genres.

Sections of Robin’s documentary ‘Back From The Source’ will be screened behind the band during the performance, adding to the vibe of the event and giving further insight into the inspiration behind the songs.
