Step into a story of jazz, letters, and transatlantic glamour with Bar Américain’s new cocktail menu – Postcards from Paris. Crafted by our award-winning Bar Manager Panos Ntalianis, each drink pays tribute to the golden era when American artists, writers, and dreamers found creative freedom in the Paris of the 1920s.

Inspired by Stories, Captured in a Glass

After the First World War, a wave of American expatriates crossed the Atlantic in search of inspiration. From Hemingway to Josephine Baker, Langston Hughes to Gertrude Stein, they filled Paris with music, poetry, and modern spirit. Our new menu draws from the real letters and postcards exchanged between America and France during that vibrant time – each cocktail a liquid interpretation of history and emotion.

Six Cocktails, Six Stories

Barefoot in Gold

A sparkling ode to Josephine Baker, who danced barefoot into Parisian fame. This radiant twist on the French 75 blends Tanqueray 10 Gin, aquavit, red currant, and champagne – exuberant, elegant, and alive with rhythm.

Whirling Heart

Inspired by Langston Hughes’ Montmartre nights, this bold whisky sour variation swirls Johnny Walker Ruby, toasted mustard seeds, and ginger in a smoky, honeyed embrace

Avant-Garde

A modernist masterpiece dedicated to Gertrude Stein. With Lost Explorer Espadín mezcal, porcini aperitif, and beetroot bitter liqueur, it’s earthy, artistic, and unmistakably Parisian.

Chez Bricktop

Celebrating Harlem-born legend Ada “Bricktop” Smith, who ruled Paris nightlife. A playful fusion of vodka, tahini, mandarin, and pomegranate molasses captures her bold spirit and effortless charm.

Gossip & Gitanes

Echoing F. Scott Fitzgerald’s smoky café conversations, this luxurious rum cocktail layers Zacapa 23, cocoa butter, and milky oolong, crowned with a pistachio foam.

Moveable Feast

A poetic tribute to Ernest Hemingway, blending Hennessy VSOP cognac, spiced pinot noir, and cherry blossom soda – balanced, reflective, and endlessly drinkable.
