“Lucy is sensational. Completely riveting on stage, so comfortable, I loved every second of it and I’m so glad finally to have seen and heard her. Can’t wait for another show!”
    Roger Vignoles, pianist and accompanist

“Weill’s sweeter melodies were given consummate renditions by Dixon – her singing of the bittersweet “Surabaya Johnny” will linger long in my memory…”

The David Gordon Trio has a unique sound world, a strong pedigree and a worldwide following. Their music is characterised by searingly beautiful melodies, free-flowing improvisation and quick-fire humour. All their recordings have received rave reviews in media in Japan, the US and Europe, where they have sold more than 10,000 CDs. Their album Alexander Scriabin’s Ragtime Band was Mojo magazine’s jazz CD of the year and they plan to release their first live album later this year.

The trio features two giants of the London jazz scene, bassist Oli Hayhurst and drummer Tom Hooper and has played festivals in Italy, Denmark and the UK. In addition to performing together with Lucy they have collaborated with a variety of artists from singer Jacqui Dankworth, to saxophonist Andy Sheppard, guitarist John Etheridge and trumpeter Wynton Marsalis.

David is an award-winning composer and his tune Angel Feet is published in Sher Music’s ‘The European Real Book’. Amongst his many commissions he has written an opera and four concertos. An assured and versatile pianist, he is one of the few professional jazz musicians who is also a well-established classical artist.
