  • Described as “a Renaissance Man in a Jazz World”, Sam Jewison’s vocal prowess and pianistic virtuosity dazzles in a kaleidoscopic evening of music to celebrate the 140th birthday of Jerome Kern.

Appearing fresh from New York’s Lincoln Center and a string of sold-out UK concerts, Jewison casts his acclaimed interpretation over classic songs including “The Way You Look Tonight”, “All the Things You Are”, “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes”, and “Yesterdays”.

Kern’s undeniable contribution to the canon of American popular song and music theatre – especially with the seminal 1927 work “Show Boat”- has led many commentators to laud him as the “Father of Broadway”. Indeed, President Ronald Reagan remarked: “when you hear a great tune, and you aren’t quite sure who wrote it, you could guess Jerome Kern and nine times out of ten you’d be right”.

Jewison headlined the 2020 ReGeneration Festival in Florence and the 2021 BBC Radio 3 Christmas Special, playing the award-winning Nevill Holt Opera House in 2022 and the Rame Lahaj International Opera Festival in Pristina in 2024. In addition to sold-out EFG London Jazz Festival shows in 2022 and 2023, he has performed at iconic London venues, including Camden’s famous Jazz Café, Westminster Abbey, and the Royal Opera House. Jewison made his ROH recital debut in 2022 with “The Composer in Hollywood”, returning in 2024 with “The Composer on Broadway”.
