Elena Ferrari: Mothers

Elena Ferrari has enjoyed a long career as a leading performer in both Musical Theatre and Opera, as well as being the mother of four gorgeous, infuriating, life-affirming  children. Accompanied by Tony-nominated composer, orchestrator and pianist, Jason Carr, Elena presents her version of what it is to be a mother.

From ‘Mother Knows Best’ to ‘Slipping Through My Fingers’, many great composers have written songs for wonderful, often complicated, mother characters. Variously, we meet neurotic, loving, devoted and dysfunctional mums telling their stories, in widely differing song styles throughout the evening. The show is an honest, sometimes humorous, and ultimately hopeful vision of motherhood.  As the song from Baby reassures us, ‘The story goes on and on and on…’
