  • The Crazy Coqs welcomes the return of Elaine Delmar, Winner of the Parliamentary Jazz Awards Best Singer, 2023, to sing the wonderful music of the great American songwriter Jerome Kern.

Crazy Coqs audiences much enjoyed Elaine’s successful sold-out concerts performing the music of George Gershwin and Cole Porter, plus her most recent evenings featuring the stylish Lena Horne and her outstanding selection of material from her “musical bottom drawer”.

Elaine now turns her attention, with her evergreen style, wide vocal range and musical dexterity, to the songs of Jerome Kern. She will feature, among many gems, “Ol’ Man River”, “Can’t Help Lovin’ That Man”, “A Fine Romance”,” Smoke Gets In Your Eyes”, “The Song Is You”, “All The Things You Are”,” The Way You Look Tonight, and many more.

Jerome Kern created dozens of Broadway Musicals- of which “Showboat” is the most recognised – plus music for many Hollywood films across an active 4-decade musical career. His musical innovations built on the earlier theatre traditions, and his melodies were used more widely to develop the action and characterisations than was the then common practice.

Sit back and enjoy Elaine’s magical interpretations, accompanied by her regular duo of Barry Green – with his Lyrical piano style and British Jazz Awards nominee best Bassist –Simon Thorpe.
