  • Saxophonist/flautist Tori Freestone and pianist Alcyona Mick are currently creating a stir on the UK jazz scene, presenting music from their new critically acclaimed album ‘Make One Little Room an Everywhere’. The music draws inspiration from a variety of sources, from bird songs to the contents of one’s fridge. This includes the Ivor Novello award-winning composition ‘Birds of Paradise’ by Tori.

Formed in 2015, the characterful duo has a spontaneous, interactive approach and will be performing their new album material drawing from a wide range of musical influences inhabiting but also going boldly beyond the jazz genre, including folk, Brazilian music, Joni Mitchell, Classical music, Arabic music, Free improvisation, Monk and more.

‘As an unaccompanied duo, they stir a rare mix of jazz and folk, wit and improvised sharpness’ – John Fordham, The Guardian

‘In a tightly held discourse, there grows this never before heard sound, full of esprit, insight, experience and joie de vivre’ – Concerto Magazine, Austria
