Xara Vaughan is a fascinating talent with a fabulous voice and electrifying stage presence combining artistry and attitude. She spent her rebellious teenage years fronting a punk band, went on to be a Stringfellow's Angel and was more recently a fully ordained Buddhist nun running an orphanage in the Himalayas.
Vaughan returns to Crazy Coqs to present songs from the repertoire of acclaimed songwriter Ty Jeffries. Theirs' is a pairing born out of a love of singers such as Judy Garland and Lena Horne, and songwriters such as Harold Arlen and Sondheim.
"Whether it's his heartrending ballads, witty comic numbers or dramatic showstoppers, I love singing Ty's songs" says Vaughan and Jeffries responds "Xara delivers with the best of them in my book. She belts like Bassey and interprets as sensitively as a young Streisand. She's a real find!"
