Woody Allen(ish): Soundtracks and Stand-up

A unique evening of iconic comedy and jazz for Woody fans.

Simon Schatzberger performs Woody Allen's legendary 1960s stand-up comedy routines. Acclaimed vocalist Kilke John, together with jazz pianist accompaniment, performs classic
songs and music from some of Woody's best loved movies.

Simon Schatzberger

Schatzberger first heard and loved Woody's stand-up comedy in the '90s when his brother bought him the cassettes. A mere twenty years later he had the idea of performing the routines, playing sell-out shows in London and Edinburgh.

Schatzberger's acting appearances include Band of Brothers, Black Books, Eastenders and The Cottage, working with directors such as Tom Hanks, Tom Hooper and Mike Leigh.

"Mesmerising, like travelling back in time and seeing him live" - Jon Culshaw

"Uncanny, fans of Allen and his '60s routines will love it" - Time Out

"Big laughs, the stand-up beautifully, vividly recreated" - Jason Solomons, film critic and author of 'Woody Allen Film by Film'

Kilke John

Kilke's earliest memory of music used in Woody's films is from when she was a little girl. Her father used many of the famous tunes to play her to sleep on the grand piano. She lives by one of her favourite Woody Allen quotes: "I have no idea what I am doing, but incompetence has never prevented me from plunging in with enthusiasm".

Kilke trained in Musical Theatre and in the UK and across Europe as a trilingual recording artist. Theatre credits include Satin 'n' Steel (UK Tour), Beside the Seaside (UK Tour), The Mikado (UK Tour), The Thursford Christmas Spectacular and Crazy for You (London Palladium)
