VIVIANA ZARBO SINGS MARILYN: A GIRL’S BEST FRIEND

Andy Warhol's paintings, JFK's birthday song, NYC subway grating up skirt… The list goes on. Marilyn's icon was a blend of innocence and feminine sexuality. Despite her "bombshell" fame, Marilyn contributed to set the standards of the jazz and swing golden age in the 1940s/1950s.

57 years after her death, jazz singer and actress, Viviana Zarbo, who has had a lifelong fascination with the star, reinterprets her songs and the masterpieces composed by geniuses like Cole Porter and Irving Berlin, in a personal way and devoid of clichés. Zarbo intertwines tales about Marilyn's life along with her own and recounts how her career was shaped through Marilyn's songs.

This is an evening of music and celebration, with Christian Vaughan on piano and the world-renowned alto saxophonist, Tony Kofi, as a special guest.

"Zarbo very much knows how to hold an audience imagination… the audience could not keep their eyes from the stage" - The Jazz UK

"Vaughan is a fabulous and stylish player, a musician who must be heard" - Jazz FM

" Tony Kofi… passionate… superb… heartfelt" - The Guardian
