Rosie Ashe

"A great Diva of today brings a Diva of the past back to life. Rosie Ashe is brilliant as Merman, belting out numbers with the energy and verve of the grande dame herself. Her perfect sense of comic timing, with pianist Paul Knight as happy stooge, means there is never a dull moment. A cracking 5 star show." Petroc Trelawney, Radio 3

"Highly entertaining evening." The Stage

In 'CALL ME MERMAN', Rosie visits all of Broadway star Ethel Merman's biggest shows from the Gershwins' Girl Crazy in 1931, which made her a star overnight, through to Styne and Sondheim's' Gypsy in the 1960s.

Rosie possesses a powerful delivery, recognised from so many of her West End performances, including the original prima donna Carlotta in The Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and Mary Poppins and creates a striking and often moving interpretation of Merman's back catalogue. This is a fun filled irreverent evening of music and laughter, with excerpts from Anything Goes, Annie Get Your Gun, Call Me Madam and many more.

Rosie was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Supporting Performance in a Musical in her role in The Witches of Eastwick and most recently could be seen as Lottie Grady in When We Are Married at The Garrick.

She is also no stranger to opera and has appeared with of the major opera companies in different roles including Musetta in 'La Boheme', Helene in 'La Belle Helene', Frasquita in 'Carmen' & Despina in 'Cosi Fan Tutte' to name but a few.

Musical Director - Paul Knight.
