The Man Overboard Quintet are five cutting-edge, like-minded musicians who share a love of hot swing.
The "staggeringly virtuosic" (The Guardian) Thomas Gould is a classical violinist and a dab hand at jazz, beautifully complemented by the lyrical clarinet-playing of Ewan Bleach, who has been making his mark on the music scene in London and New Orleans.
Thomas and Ewan work seamlessly together, sometimes harmonising, sometimes challenging each other, or simply providing the setting for Louisa Jones' distinctively husky, sweet voice. With Dave O'Brien (one of the brightest musicians on the London swing scene) on the double bass and Jean-Marie Fagon, a good old-fashioned, no-nonsense rhythm guitarist from France.
The five musicians first started playing together in January 2011 and were quickly performing in some of London's favourite jazz venues. They have recorded music for television (BBC3 's Being Human) and were featured on BBC Radio 3's In Tune Christmas Special.
Man Overboard released their first album All Hands on Deck (Champs Hill Records) in July 2013. Their second album is due for release in May 2015.
