LondonJazz TransLATES with Bobby Wellins and Kate Williams

"Wellins' is a totally original voice, and in his late seventies, he's still capable of producing storytelling magic." Glasgow Herald

"The Scottish saxophonist Bobby Wellins and English pianist-composer Kate Williams sound made for each other... the best qualities of jazz, irrespective of style or fashion - about sharing, spontaneity, communication and surprise... an unpretentiously delightful encounter." The Guardian

Bobby Wellins' uniquely haunting saxophone sound and his phenomenal imagination as an improviser mark him out as a unique presence on the European jazz scene. In TUNES FROM SOHO TALES, a programme specially devised for Crazy Coqs, Bobby Wellins and Kate Williams will share memories of Soho from the 60s and 70s through story and song. Expect stories of musicians and Soho characters, nostalgia and humour from a true jazz master.

The LondonJazz TransLATES series is devised, and the singers and songs will be introduced and explained by jazz journalist, Sebastian Scotney, editor of LondonJazz News.
