KATE GARNER: SONGS FROM THE ART DECO DECADES

Kate Garner is a pianist and singer from London and daughter of the late Chas Hodges of Chas & Dave.

Making her debut at Crazy Coqs with this brand new show, Songs From The Art Deco Decades, Kate sings at the piano accompanied by a fabulously authentic line up of drums, double bass and alto sax/clarinet. Together they celebrate the songs of the 1920s and 1930s with an evening of style and fun that was at the very heart of the Art Deco decades.

Kate's exceptional musicians have performed around the globe for many big name artists, including the legendary Pasadena Roof Orchestra.

Brought up in a musical family, Kate's love of music from the 20s and 30s began at the age of 12 when her dad bought her a wind-up gramophone. She has performed at many vintage events from Goodwood to the London Palladium and has featured on Channel 4's Come Dine With Me and a BBC documentary about Mrs Mills. Kate has guested with Chas & Dave at The Royal Albert Hall where she performed a song she was asked to write for their album. She also performed with her father at Boisdale's for Jools Holland.

Kate has written her own musical set in the 1930s based on the Mapp and Lucia novels by EF Benson. It is currently in development with London producers Runaway Entertainment.
