Judi Jackson is an American singer-songwriter who has already recorded with the Grammy nominated Snarky Puppy, opened for the legendary Mavis Staples and performed live sessions for JazzFM - just a few of the notable stepping stones in the rapid rise of this amazing vocal talent.

Jackson comes to Crazy Croqs to perform a mix of stunning jazz and soul accompanied by highly acclaimed pianist Alex Webb.

Jackson is a multi-talented actor and jazz vocalist from Virginia who, aged 14, was fortunate enough to meet Wynton Marsalis at the Jefferson Center performance hall after a show. He sent her a box of music the following Christmas that became the seed of inspiration for her development as a jazz vocalist. She began listening to and studying the sounds of Blossom Dearie, Billie Holliday, Sarah Vaughan, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, and Mahalia Jackson, amongst many other greats. She continued studying over the next several years and started gaining more experience as a performer by opening for acts such as Mavis Staples. Shortly thereafter she released her first album, Crashing Down with Judi and the Giants, on the Music Lab's label. Jackson has shared the stage with Snarky Puppy, and recorded her original piece, Only Love, with the Grammy award winning group.

Webb is a songwriter, arranger and pianist whose songs have been performed by many UK and international jazz artists. He has also created and produced a series of words-and-music shows including Strayhorn the Songwriter, Charlie Parker on Dial, Fever: Jo Harrop sings Peggy Lee and Cafe Society Swing, which has enjoyed theatre runs in London and New York where it won a New York Times 'Critic's Pick' and coming to Theatre Royal Stratford East - June 2018.
