Howard Goodall and Lauren Samuels

Howard Goodall CBE is one of the UK's most celebrated composers, not just for his famous TV and film themes (The Vicar of Dibley, Blackadder, Red Dwarf, Mr Bean, QI etc), not just for his many award-winning TV films on the history of music but also for his long career as composer & lyricist of musicals, which have been seen all over the world since his professional début in the West End with The Hired Man (1984).

Since then his shows have included Girlfriends (1986), Days of Hope (1990), The Kissing-Dance (1998), the dreaming (2001), A Winter's Tale (2005), Two Cities (2006), Love Story (2010) and Bend it like Beckham (2015). Howard was delighted that Lauren Samuels played the iconic role of Jenny Cavalleri in the Bolton, Octagon revival of his Love Story and Lauren created the role of Jules in Bend it like Beckham's West End launch in 2015, for which she received a Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Lauren has recently been starring in Vanities the Musical at the Trafalgar Studios, playing Mary.
