The young French performer, Marie Oppert, was picked at 17 years old by Michel Legrand to play the leading role of Geneviève in his Umbrellas of Cherbourg alongside Natalie Dessay at the Châtelet Theatre. Most recently, she was cast in Peau d'Ane for the first stage adaptation of Jacques Demy's movie at the Marigny Theatre in Paris. Other recent roles include Hodel in Barrie Kosky's production of Fiddler on the Roof (Opera du Rhin), Johanna in Sweeney Todd (Opera de Reims) and Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady (Arena hall of Orleans).

She studied musical theatre at the Marymount Manhattan College in New York with a Fulbright grant and received the Special Award at the Lotte Lenya Competition.

Marie is thrilled to be making her Crazy Coqs debut for the release of her first album Enchantée with Warner Classics which was recorded with the Lille Symphonic Orchestra, conducted by Nicholas Skilbeck and with guests Natalie Dessay and more.

Marie invites you on her "enchanted" voyage through musical theater and French chansons with songs by Michel Legrand, Stephen Sondheim, Richard Rodgers, Charles Trenet, Joseph Kosma, George Gershwin, and many more.

Marie will be joined by musicians Rob Barron on piano, Dave Ingamells on drums and Adam King on bass; including guest singer: Emma-Kate Nelson.
