Eric Schwartz

"Eric Schwartz is a brilliant musician, parodist, lyrical song-writer, satirist, actor and grown-up child. I could listen to him all night." - Dame Harriet Walter

New York-born, Hollywood-tolerating, Award-Winning Singer-Songwriter-Comedian-Gadfly Eric Schwartz brings his unique brand of musical entertainment to Live at Zédel for one night only. Equally at home in comedy clubs (Improv, Laugh Factory, Comedy store) and folk festivals (Philadelphia, etc.), Schwartz says what others wouldn't dare (but are already thinking).

Schwartz is somewhat of an anomaly, not for what he does in performance, but for what he doesn't do in performance, which is less than most people don't do in performance. Which is to say, his training in theatre, music, comedy and improvisation come together into a show where a biting, bluesy, sardonic condemnation of the Trump administration may be followed by a jazz-torch ballad about personal fallibility and lost love, which may be followed by a country waltz bemoaning the fate of the man who may not have been sufficiently careful with the x-rated pictures he has stored on his iPhone. One song may be performed on guitar and the next on piano, each vocally and instrumentally true to the style in which they've been written and each delivered with honesty and passion, and, where appropriate, impeccable comic timing.

"The most gifted, irreverant, musically brilliant, beloved, warm presence...It's you and Richie Havens!" - Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary, Folk Music Luminaries

"We don't encounter many master performers, but he's in that Class" - Tom Paxton, Folk Music Luminaries
