"The way her voice, with its blues inflections, cut a swath, leaving nothing standing, tempts me to describe her with grovelling hyperbole as an earthier, more acerbic 21st-century Barbra Streisand." The New York Times
"Carole J. Bufford is that rare Broadway-based ingénue who is equally at home with the blues as she is with show tunes. In her latest set, she vividly illustrates the various permutations of blues... Ms. Bufford sings all of it exquisitely." The Wall Street Journal
The sensational Carole J. Bufford makes a welcome return to Crazy Coqs with her thrilling new show SHADES OF BLUE, a show full of tempestuous blues numbers culled from material spanning a century.
Shades of Blue traces how the Blues affected the Great American Songbook as well as country, rock and roll, Broadway and even current popular music with songs made famous by the likes of Johnny Cash, Janis Joplin, The Beatles, Elvis Presley and more.
