Cantabile - The London Quartet, make their debut at The Crazy Coqs with HOLD THAT TIGER, a celebration of harmony groups and harmony hits, featuring classics ranging from The Ink Spots, the Jordanaires and The Mills Brothers to The Manhattan Transfer, The Flying Pickets and beyond, all presented with the group's unique blend of hilarity and vocal virtuosity.
The London Quartet has toured extensively worldwide, singing in the most prestigious venues for the most prestigious clientele, including Buckingham Palace and Carnegie Hall. Their itinerary has taken them to most European countries, as well as Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Russia, Barbados, Hawaii, Tahiti and, in January, Minsk.
The London Quartet was featured in the Tim Rice/ABBA musical Chess in Concert at the Royal Albert Hall (also released as a Warner Bros DVD) alongside Josh Groban and Idina Menzel. Other recent appearances at the RAH include a star-studded performance in aid of UNICEF with Sir Roger Moore and Vanessa Redgrave, and two sell-out shows in the Elgar Room.
The Quartet's last CD, Songs of Cricket, on which guests include the lyricists and performers Sir Richard Stilgoe (Starlight Express, The Phantom of the Opera) and Sir Tim Rice ( Evita, The Lion King, From Here To Eternity) was enthusiastically received; they have just released their new album, Songs of Love and War, accompanied by Malcolm Martineau.
