"I don't know where to position myself; I sometimes feel like I'm doing theatre or cinema rather than music. I offer people a continuous, totally improvised journey. I want to take them elsewhere. To a place hardly accessible. Where one rarely goes: deep inside oneself" - Arnaud NANO Méthivier
Straight off the Eurostar from France, Arnaud NANO Méthivier makes his Live at Zédel debut this July to celebrate Bastille Day in true theatrical style. With an indefinable mixture of rhythms and genres, colours and atmospheres, guttural songs and sighs, words and onomatopoeias - this is the NANO accordion.
This is a multifaceted accordion, able to evoke Ennio Morricone and Deep Purple, Astor Piazzola and Brian Eno. Forget the clichés, waltz musette, Tour de France and convivial guinguettes - NANO reinvented the instrument.
…And then rising out of nowhere, a majestic whirring - a gasping with a metallic breath, between a foghorn and a rushing train - knocks you in the guts.
Please note that the dinner and show option is not available for this performance.
