  • Join us for an evening of Latin/Andean Folk, Jazz and Neo-Soul infused music led by two of the most exciting Latinx artists in London: Swedish-Ecuadorian musician XATIVA and British-Colombian singer Issa. Having played at the likes of Ronnie Scott’s and The Green Note, these artists are making waves with their original take on Latin classics as well as their personal lyricism and songwriting. They will be accompanied by the accomplished Guildhall Graduate Jazz bassist Giovanni Cresseri.

XATIVA is a Swedish-Ecuadorian singer-songwriter who fuses together traditional and contemporary, Latin and acoustic influences alongside elements from Jazz and alternative R&B. She plays classical piano as well as Spanish guitar, having spent time living in Madrid, studying with traditional flamenco musicians. Her music has been compared to that of Thom Yorke, early Rosalía and Astrud Gilberto.

In 2020 she released her debut EP ‘If I Am Falling’, which was followed by a second EP in 2022 ‘Fly Away’. The projects are emotive collections of love songs that often explore contradictory feelings surrounding experiences of love. For these she received critical acclaim from The Line of Best Fit, Earmilk and Wonderland as well as tastemaker support from BBC Radio London and Flex Fm.

Issa is a London-born British Colombian singer-songwriter. She has shaped her sound around her love for Neo-Soul and Jazz alongside the Latin music she grew up listening to. Her buttery soulful vocals paired with personal lyrics are set to take people on a journey of self-discovery.

‘Marrying arthouse inventiveness with soothing dulcet tones, XATIVA is one of those artists you’ll want to put on to your cinema buff friends just as eagerly as you introduce her to fellow audiophiles.’– Earmilk
