  • Kurt Weill was one of the greatest theatre showmen of his day. He wrote music of biting satire and wit, with stories of cruel, calculating women, reaping revenge on the politics of war torn Europe.

Chanteuse Taylor Wilson brings her 1930’s Berliner Cabaret to life with her multi instrumentalist band The Schadenfreudes.

His music lives on, with great song classics – from Mack the Knife, Pirate Jenny and Alabama to September Song – sewn together in a tale of romance, rejection and revenge and told through the eyes of the many ‘Jenny’ characters that Weill and Brecht created in their wild Volksbühne theatre.

    line

“Take a Walk on the Weill Side is a rich homage to this time and to this man, and it’s a pleasure to see it done with the skill and intelligence it needs. The music is beautiful, filled with subtlety and nuance, and the three accompany Jenny with aplomb’’ – Edinburgh Guide
