  • The Gypsy Jazz Festival of London is a showcase of some of the worlds most impressive musicians of the style. This evening the great Tim Kliphuis will be performing at Crazy Coqs Soho, accompanied by the local powerhouse Cornelius Corkery Trio.

    Award-winning Dutch violinist Tim Kliphuis embraces classical, gypsy jazz and folk. Hailed as a ‘current day improvising Paganini’, his inclusive and innovative approach to music has united audiences and is influencing a new generation of string players. He is an incomparable violinist who has played across the world with nearly all the great’s within the style of jazz inspired by Django Reinhardt.

    As a Sony Classical artist, Kliphuis recorded Vivaldi-inspired ‘Reflecting the Seasons’ in 2016, followed by ‘Brandenburg’, based on Bach’s Concertos, and his own ‘Ulysses’ Violin Concerto in 2018. He has been awarded the Scottish Jazz Award, South African Woordfees Award and the Polish ‘Swing Raven’ Prize. The Cornelius Corkery Trio are a stalwart of the British Gypsy Jazz scene. Cornelius is host of the popular
    podcast ‘Gypsy Jazz Hangouts’ and performs prolifically across the country, as well as at prestigious venues in Europe including Sunset Sunside Paris.
