    For tonight, in the final concert of our Music Greats series, jazz cabaret star Chris Ingham presents the life and times and performs many wonderful songs composed by the Music Great that is Johnny Mercer.

    Mercer was not only a lyricist, songwriter and singer, but was also a record label executive who founded Capitol Records.

    He wrote the lyrics to more than 1500 songs including compositions for movies and Broadway shows. He received 19 Oscar nominations and won 4 Best Original Song Oscars, including the memorable “Moon River” and “Days Of Wine And Roses”

    He became a much appreciated song writer for Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby. He is he only songwriter to have his work recorded as a volume of “Ella Fitzgerald’s Song Book Albums”

    His whole life is summed up in the title to one of his most memorable songs “Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate The Positive”.

    Giving voice to the wonderful music and the life and times of Johnny Mercer, we present the vocal and piano skills of Chris Ingham, whose wit and charm, with stories tales and anecdotes plus the performance of these wonderful songs, will give audiences a most enjoyable, informative and entertaining evening.
