torch song (n.) – a sad or sentimental love song, typically about unrequited love
Known for her dusky, emotive voice and biting wit, Edinburgh Fringe regular, jazz singer and award-winning cabaret performer Cat Loud sets her sights on exploring the historically female-led sub-genre of jazz. Torch Songs features classic and contemporary tracks from vibrant women – the likes of Billie Holiday, Nina Simone and Melody Gardot – who sing of heartbreak and pain, and every shade of love in between.
A soulful take on love and life with piano accompaniment and arrangement by Fraser Parry.
