“A songstress who has triumphed in everything from Broadway-flavoured tunes to opera arias and the sultry innuendos of the cabaret chanteuse” The Washington Post
Acclaimed international concert and cabaret artist Anna Bergman premiered her new show YOU & THE NIGHT & THE MUSIC: AN EVENING OF MUSICAL IMPORTS & EXPORTS at New York’s Feinstein’s at Loews Regency Hotel in January 2012 to sold-out houses and brought it back, by popular demand, in October 2012. Critics called this show “an electrifying evening", ”performed to perfection” and hailed Ms. Bergman as “a superior soprano, sultry and thrilling” and “an artist at the top of her game”.
In “You & the Night & the Music: An Evening of Musical Imports & Exports” Ms. Bergman presents an international musical scrapbook and audience favourites. From the American songbook, she includes selections by Cole Porter, Leonard Bernstein, Arthur Schwartz & Howard Dietz, George & Ira Gershwin, Maury Yeston, Adam Guettel, Carol King and John Denver. Raised abroad as the daughter of an American diplomat and an actress, she pays tribute to her European roots with Parisian chansons, Viennese operetta and Italian opera, and pays homage to such artists as Edith Piaf and Marlene Dietrich.
